Most people have two kidneys, with one located on each side of your spine in your lower back. Fun Fact: The right kidney is positioned slightly lower than the left to make room for your liver!
The kidneys remove waste, toxins, and excess fluid. They filter all the blood in your body every 30 minutes, making urine. Kidneys also help control blood pressure, keep bones healthy, and make red blood cells.
Kidneys don't make you thirsty, but they are busy all day filtering your blood and making urine.
